History
Developed in the 1830s at the royal kennels of Compiègne, France, from crossings between English Pointers and French Braque breeds, believed to involve an English Pointer gifted to King Charles X. Named after the Saint-Germain-en-Laye region and recognized by the FCI as a versatile gundog
