Description

Small, upstanding, and muscular terrier with a distinctive egg-shaped head and triangular eyes. This compact version of the Bull Terrier is known for being comical, mischievous, and lively with a squarely built frame.

History

Developed in 19th-century England as a scaled-down version of the standard Bull Terrier, which was standardized by James Hinks. Created for fanciers who wanted a smaller companion version while maintaining the same characteristics and recognized as a separate breed by the AKC in 1991.
