An ancient indigenous Korean breed from the Silla Dynasty period, originating in Gyeongju. Primarily used for hunting and valued for companionship and as a guard dog for centuries. The breed faced near extinction but was revived through dedicated conservation efforts and was designated a Korean National Treasure in 2012.
