Large, powerful landrace of freighting sled dog developed in northern Canada, known for exceptional endurance, strength, and cold weather adaptation in sub-arctic regions
Developed by indigenous peoples and fur traders in the Mackenzie River region as a functional landrace for freight hauling across vast northern territories. Created by crossing native sled dogs with large European breeds in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Not recognized by major kennel clubs.
