Medium to large, strongly-built pointer of noble appearance with distinctive white coat and brown markings, bred for endurance hunting in Danish terrain and known for its calm, stable temperament
Ancient Danish hunting breed also known as Gammel Dansk Hønsehund, dating back to around 1710. Developed by crossing local Danish farm dogs with Spanish Pointers and scenthounds to create a versatile, steady gundog with endurance for varied terrain. Nearly extinct after WWII but preserved by dedicated breeders.
