Ancient indigenous breed from Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, descended from dogs brought in pre-Hispanic times. Traditionally used by the Majorero people (natives of Fuerteventura) for herding goats and cattle and guarding livestock. Recognized by Spanish breed clubs and the Real Sociedad Canina de España.
