Ancient pariah-type landrace native to Sri Lanka, traditionally used by indigenous Vedda people for hunting small game, tracking, and village guarding. Efforts are underway by the Kennel Association of Sri Lanka to standardize and preserve this primitive breed with strong survival instincts.
